Lady Mary Julian Maitland was born on 26 July 1754 at Ratho, Midlothian, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of James Maitland, 7th Earl of Lauderdale and Mary Lombe.1 She was baptised on 18 August 1754 at Ratho, Midlothian, Scotland.2 She married Thomas Hog of Newliston on 9 March 1770.3 She died on 2 February 1795 at age 40.2
From 9 March 1770, her married name became Hog.1
