When looking at family trees on ancestry.com, Mary Lewis and John Worrell dates show her birthday as in 1653 at Radnor, Delaware, Pennsylvania, United States This makes no sense if she is the same Mary Lewis Worrell to have married John Sr., ~33 years her junior, circa 1717 (though John Worrell died in 1816 and so dates make sense in that way) and still had three children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When searching Mary Lewis and John Brownfield dates for her show birthday as 1677-1749, which still makes her at least 15 years older than him.

    Notes for JOHN BROWNFIELD SR.:
The first evidence of this line of Brownfields in America is the record of John buying 45 and 1/2 acres at Newton Square on March 5, 1718 in Chester County, PA. This is now Delaware County in the same state. The property was about 15 miles west of Phila. on the road to West Chester. Next John and his new wife, the widow Mary Lewis Worrell, are recorded as opening a tavern 25 miles due northwest of Phila. He was taxed there from 1728 to 1739 inclusive.

In 1728 when Edward Kinison Sr. did not renew his tavern inn license, the people of Whiteland Township got up a petition signed by 25 residents saying they were very much decommoded every night by travelers. These were immigrants coming from Britain and Europe with their household goods and livestock and Penn promoters of real estate. The petition for John Brownfield to run a tavern inn state he was a "fitt person to run a tavern inn and was well equipped to feed men and horses."

License #202 was issued to John Brownfield allowing him to sell all kinds of liquor. He ran a tavern inn for several years renewing the license annually. It was known as "The Three Bottles Inn."

Thought this had been put to rest. Apparently old queries keep popping up. Information I had received long ago said my John Brownfield was a son of Robert. Original DAR applications contain this information. However, when I researched I found the John Brownfield I was looking for was married to the widow Mary Lewis Worrell. He died about 1751 in Marple Twp., Chester Co., Pa. His son John married Prudence Gray and their son John married Elizabeth Clark. The third John died 5 Sept. 1788 in Cumberland Co., Pa. Have found no data to suggest the original John was related to Robert. Let me know if you want further info. My outline should be on ancestry.
