Questionable Information Found
I have posted this page only to document the sources cited. The Belknap source is clearly wrong, and I don't find the Find A Grave source credible given the lack of gravestone image or other source, and its information appears to simply be Belknap minus his speculative additions. This is not to say FindAGrave could not be true, merely we have no basis and can't confirm it. The deeds cited on the husband's page appear to show his wife was Mary until at least 1803, and he mentions a wife in his will, so she could have survived him. it is strange that her birth date is specified but not her parents, and no such birth or death record for her has been located. Hopefully, this suggests a family Bible possibly recorded when she was an adult or by her children, but if so, that is not specified, so who knows...

John Burnap [#171] m. 24 Dec 1767 Mary Hayward, b. Reading 8 Mar 1740, his wife "said to have died" 26 Feb 1825.
[Note: Speculation that John Burnap m. (2) 1782 Hepzibah Fish cause Belknap to think Mary died about 1781, all of which is proved false by deeds cited on John's page (which shows John had moved to New Hampshire before that and had a wife Mary at least until 1803). Hence "the widow of John Burnap died 9 May, 1813" that Belknap mentions (found in Reading VRs, p. 504) appears to apply to the other John Burnap of Reading, Mass., that did marry Hepzibah.]
