Gone To Rest - At her home in this county on the 30th of August 1881, Mrs. Mary E. wife of R. S. Dowell after a brief but painful illness breathed her last and peacefully fell asleep in the arms of Jesus. While sitting in church a day or so before she was stricken down. She lingered a few days in excessive pain desiring if it were god's will to remain a little longer with her children but perfectly resigned to his pleasure. She died a triumphant Christian death. While Society has lost a useful member of the church, a devoted christian, a faithful and affectionate wife our sympathies are cheifly enlisted for the children who have lost a tender loving mother.
