The Burlington Times-New June 21, 2004 Mrs.. Mary Alice Hadley Rich GRAHAM — Mrs.. Mary Alice Hadley Rich, 85, of 2455 N.C. 54, died at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a critical illness of two weeks. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Haskell Lee Rich, and the daughter of the late Alvis M. Hadley and the late Josie Crawford Hadley. She had been a sales clerk for Haw River Remnants Shop, and was a lifetime member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church. She taught Sunday school class and was a member of Circle No. 2. She was a loving homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs.. Emily R. Cannon and husband, John, of Currituck, N.C.; two sons, Mr. Robert L. Rich and wife, Cindy, of Haw River and Mr. Thomas M. "Tom" Rich and wife, Betsy, of Graham; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Hadley. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hawfields Presbyterian Church by Dr. R. Curtis Fussell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and at other times will be at the residence. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., c/o N.C.
