Mary's parents are listed as Henry and Prudence Gates on the marriage record of 1861 where she married William Brigham. Her birthpace is Gardner and birth year about 1802. This birth in Ashburnham in 1805 seems to be the closest match. This would make her parents Henry Gates and Prudence Priest as mentioned in Source:Stearns, Ezra S. History of Ashburnham, Massachusetts, p. 712. No marriage to a Mr. Christie has yet been found. A "Mary B Christie", apparently a widow (having no husband and various teenage and young adult children with surname Christie), is listed in the 1850 census in New Ipswich, Hillsborough, NH, age 44. "Mary B Christy" is found in the 1860 census, age 54, living in the household of Daniel or David Ray.
