... Rev. Henry Hall, the first to come over, was a priest of the Church of England. He was sent by Henry Lord Bishop, of London, with letters to Hon. Francis Nicholson, then Governor of the Province, who inducted Rev. Henry Hall as First Rector of St. James. This office was held till his death, in 1722.
