Mary Ann was born during 1760s, a probable daughter of JOHN BINDON and MARY who are recorded as having a son baptised at St Peter's Cathedral in 1766.

20th March 1762- JOHN BINDON was appointed 'Custos Organi' at the cathedral - he was the organ blower, taking on the job after the resignation of William Sanders. As 'staff' the BINDON family were entitled to live on The Close, adjacent to the cathedral. The road was gated and bolted at night.

JOHN BINDON was buried at St Peter's on 10th April 1799.

On 1841 census Mary MARSHALL (nee BINDON), aged c70yrs is recorded living on Northerly St, Exeter. Nearby two of her sons, both probably bachelors, working as cabinet makers.
