The census gives conflicting information. According to the 1900 census, Mary and William were only married 9 years and Mary had 0 of 0 children living, which would make Charles and Elsie from William's first marriage. But the 1910 census says they have been married 26 years and Mary claims to have 2 children of 2 living. This then would make Charles and Elsie her children. The 1830 census says Mary was married at age 18, which would be in 1886. Charles was born 1884 and Elsie in 1889 according to the 1900 census.
