Descendants of Moses and Sarah Kilham Porter of Pawlet, Vermont, p. 143, says Benjamin Hatch married Sarah Bangs, but this is contradicted by the marriage records which says Mary. Source:Pack, Charles Lathrop. Thomas Hatch of Barnstable Some of His Descendants, p. 174, identifies Mary as the daughter of Jonathan Bangs and Mary Mayo, but that Mary Bangs m. Thomas Nickerson, and would have been 15 years older than Benjamin Hatch (1671 versus 1686 births). Further, Benjamin and Mary Hatch named a daughter Ruth, offering some indication that Edward and Ruth Bangs are the correct parents.
