Robert M. Anderson, in a letter to Ms. Nina Jones, states that Mary Jane was purportedly married to a John A. Easterling. He goes on to say that the genealogical information about Elizabeth, Sarah Ann, and Mary Jane Anderson was provided to him by Mrs. John Anderson of Columbus, MS He states that at the time of the 1850 Census taken in Perry Co., MS, John E. and Sarah (Davis) Anderson had no daughters living at home as none were listed in the household. He also states that the Perry County Courthouse burned on Nov. 14, 1877 and all records prior to that time were lost. He goes on to state that the James Anderson/Louisa Fillingame line is the direct lineage of John Anderson of Columbus, MS He goes on to caution Ms. Jones to independently verify any and all information contained therein that is not properly documented and/or referenced. From a Family Group Record form on Mary Jane "Jane" Anderson. It states her date of birth as 1832 or 1835. Husband #1 was Austin (or Orson) Fillingane, b. 1829 d. about 1862. Husband #2 was William Fulton---a Yankee soldier who stayed down South after Civil War, married on 1/3/1867. All information from previous e-mail on Mary Jane Anderson matches with this record form, except the date for daughter, Harriet "Matilda" birth was 1856 and there was no mention of Sarah, who died young.[Fillingame Info.FTW] Perry County census of 1850 shows Mary to be 18 years old. Son John is 3 months. Mary cannot read or write. |
