OBITUARY FROM BURLINGTON TIMES-NEWS: Mrs.. Martha F. Isley

LIBERTY — Mrs.. Martha Flinchum Isley, 56, of 3078 N.C. 62 East, died Thursday morning, April 15, 1999, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of Mr. Jerry E. Isley, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Elmer Russell Flinchum and Mrs.. Minnie Amanda Nixon Flinchum, both deceased. She was an employee of Learning Environment Inc. in Liberty and a member of Julian Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She was the author of the Flinchum-Nixon family’s genealogy. Survivors other than her husband of the home include a son, Mr. Jeff Isley of Liberty; a daughter, Mrs.. Terrell (Donna I.) Staley of Liberty; two sisters, Ms. Nancy F. Routh of Liberty and Ms. Lucy F. Clapp of Julian; three brothers, Mr. Davis Flinchum of Lexington, Mr. Harold Flinchum of Liberty and Mr. Glenn Flinchum of Julian; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Duke Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duke University Medical Center, Durham.
