Obituaries: Marjorie M. Cleaver, 76, of 101 N. Mill Street, Ridgway died
Monday, September 23 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief
illness. She was born January 29, 1926 in Ridgway, daughter of the late
Delbert and Tresa PeQuine Laughner. She married Jack W. Cleaver Sr., who
preceded her in death November 13, 1987. Mrs. Cleaver was a resident of
Ridgway and Portland Mills for most of her life. She was a member of the
Trinity United Methodist Church and had been active in 4-H, Port-Lake City
Club and was treasurer of the Portland Mills Community Church and the
Portland Mills Water Association. She had been employed by G.C. Murphy's in
Ridgway and had worked for Dr. Riegel and Dr. Minteer. She is survived by
three children, Ronald A. Cleaver and his wife, Polly, of St. Marys, Jack W.
Cleaver Jr. of Ridgway and Wanda M. Cleaver of Ridgway; seven grandchildren;
ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Sherwood of Tomah, WI, Virginia
Christiansen of Erie; two sisters-in-law, Madeline DeVittorio of Ridgway,
Waneta Parker of Erie; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her
husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, William, Richard
and Donald Laughner. Funeral and Committal services for Marjorie M. Cleaver
will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church Thursday at 11 a.m.,
with the Rev. David C. Roddy officiating. Interment will be in Parklawn
Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home
