"Mrs. Marion A. Wardwell Mrs. Marion A. Wardwell, 65, of 24 Main St., East Hartford, died Tuesday after a brief illness. Born May 3, 1898, in Boston, Mass., she had lived in East Hartford since 1929. She was employed as a clerk for the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 15 years before her retirement. She leaves two sons, Edwin R. Wardwell Jr. of Thompsonville and John F. Wardwell of East Hartford; three daughters, Mrs. Edwina M. Pitney of Glastonbury, Mrs. Barbara A. Bureau of Enfield, Mrs. Shirley L. Palin of Bristol; 17 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 8:15 a.m. from the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford, with a Requiem High Mass in St. Christopher Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Hartford. Friends may call at the funeral home today and Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m." -The Hartford Courant 27 November 1963
