    My dad has written: "It is believed that N.L. is Nancy Louisa, daughter of Mary Ann [nee' RIGDON] HILL, and Isaac HILL; A.L. and C.A. are thought to both be children of N.L., (Nancy Louisa). According to Eunice HILL HALL, one of the HILL "girls" had one or two, maybe more children. Dr. James P. HILL, b. about 1871, is believed to be one of Nancy's children, also."

  4. War of 1812 Claim of Widow for Service Pension
    29 Jan 1884.

    Mariann Hill (nee Rigdon as stated in petition), was living in Lawrence County at this time and approximately 80 years old. She states in this claim application that her deceased husband, Isaac Hill was a private in Muggotts Company in the South Carolina Militia. He was drafted in Barnwell District on or about 1812 for the term of 3 months. A full description of her husband: about 22 years of age, farmer from South Carolina, black hair, dark eyes and dark complexion. She married Isaac Hill on the 23 rd of Dec 1820 in Barnwell District. They subsequently left S.C. and moved to Alabama and then moved back to S.C., then back to Alabama, then to Mississippi. She also states that her huband made application for Bounty Land and it was in about 1858 he held a Land Warrant or Certificate. Mariann's residence at the time of this application is Lawrence, Mississippi, with the postal address of Hooker, Mississippi. Also personally appearing on Mariann's behalf was Maryann Bass, aged 41 years of Lawrence County, Mississippi. The Act of March 4, 1878 was the document for the validation of this Service Pension.
