Mardi's parents were Kenneth and Barbara (RANKIN) Borton. Member of the Union Congregation Church in Somonauk, Illinois. Mardi's siblings were Scott, Patti, and Trent. At the time of her death, her maternal grandmother, Marjorie Eggleston, and her paternal grandfather, Eugene Borton, survived her. According to her obituary, she fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. No children were mentioned.
