Mrs. Marcella M Wasserman, 89 years, formerly of Parkside Blvd., went ho me to be with Jesus, Thursday evening, December 28, 2000. She died at t he Goerlich Center, Sylvania, surrounded by her loving family and caregive rs. Marcella was born May 30, 1911 to Albert and Alice Metty. She attended S t. Francis and Rosary Cathedral grade schools and graduated from Central C atholic High School. She attended the former DeSales College several yea rs and also worked as an office secretary 10 years at the school. In 1938, she met and fell in love with a dashing young lawyer, Carroll Was serman, who was the youngest of 16 children raised in Fremont OH. She a nd Carroll married October 12, 1938, in Toledo and he preceded her in dea th in May, 1994. Marcella was the last surviving spouse of those Wasserm an family members. Through the years, she was devoted, faithful and very active in the Gesu a nd Blessed Sacrament Parishes. Marcella was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-gr andmother who found great joy in the birth of each new grandchild. Surviving are her children, John (Sandy) Wasserman, Waterville, Mary Loui se (Wm) Dusseau, Toledo, Janet I (Donald) Jordan, Pittsburgh, Joseph A (Do nna) Wasserman, St. Joseph MI, Frank J (Martha) Wasserman, Cincinnati, Ju dith A (Philip) Kahn, Staten Island, NY, Joan M (Gregory) Arnold, Sylvan ia and daughter-in-law, Barbara Wasserman of Cincinnati. There are 39 gran dchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 5 more on the way. She is the sist er of Rita Welch, Blanche Dugan, both of Toledo, and Eileen (Jerry) Wel ch of Flemington, NJ. Her son, James F Wasserman; daughter, Anne Wasserma n, great-grandson, Jacob Wasserman, and brothers, Alva, Norbert and Juli us Metty, preceded her in death. Friends may call at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S Reynolds Rd, Tuesday, 2 -9 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be recited at 7:30 p.m. The Funer al Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 3, 2001, at Little Flower Ch urch at 10:30 a.m. where friends may visit beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interme nt Calvary Cemetery.
