Deaths Ben F. Mounts
Ben F. Mounts, 95, of Marshall died Friday, April 6 at the Fitzgibbon Hospital.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Gill Memorial Baptist Church. The Rev. Williams Ritchie will officiate. Burial will be in the Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the Campbell-Lewis Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Gill Memorial Baptist Church.
Born April 28, 1888 in Anderson, Indiana, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Anderson [sic]. On Nov. 6, 1915 in Olathe, Kan., he was married to Mabel Belle Bennett and she preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 1973. Mr. Mounts was superintendent of Building and Grounds at Missouri Valley College for 30 years and taught at the College for the next 10 years. He was a member of the Gill Memorial Baptist Church. He had lived in Marshall since 1927, moving from Kansas City, Mo.
Survivors include one son, Ben C. Mounts of Marshall; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Death of Mrs. Ben F. Mounts
Mrs. Mabel Belle Mounts, 81, 345 East Porter, died Sunday at Fitzgibbon Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Gill Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Don Reed pastor of the church and Rev. Don Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the Ridge Park Cemetery.
Friends may call anytime at the Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mounts was born in Canton, Mo., April 30, 1892 the daughter of Charles Bennett and Elizabeth Smith Bennett. She was married November 6, 1915 in Olathe, Kan. to Ben F. Mounts, who survives of the home. She was a charter member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church, of which she was an active worker. Mrs. Mounts had lived in Marshall since 1927 coming from Kansas City.
Surviving Mrs. Mounts besides her husband are a son Ben C. Mounts of Marshall, four grandchildren, three brothers and one sister, Clarence Bennett, Forrest Bennett and Mrs. Ralph (Mildred) Baker all of Kansas City and Ellis Bennett of Houston, Texas.

Ben F. Mounts, 345 E. Porter St., will celebrate his 90th birthday Friday, April 28. A resident of Marshall for more than 50 years, Ben and his wife, Mable, and son, Ben, came to Marshall from Kansas City in 1927, when he became superintendent of buildings and grounds at Missouri Valley College. Mounts was associated with MVC for nearly 40 years, during which time he not only served as engineer but also taught courses in mathematics and engineering. Mounts served for some time on the City Council. Mrs. Mounts died five years ago. They had been married for more than 50 years.
