OBITUARY- LYDIA ANN DAVIS

    Daughter of Russell and Jane Jeffrey, was born near Blounstville, Feb. 18, 1854. She departed this life in Mooreland, Jan, 12th, 1927. Her age was 72 years, 10 mo. and 24 days.
    On April 29th, 1877, she was united in marriage Jehu Neri Davis, who preceded her to the great beyond 24 years. To them were born five children, Mrs. Chas. Fowler of Mooreland, with whom she made her home for 16 months past, Erville Davis of Lakeland, Fla, Mrs. Thomas Jenner of Elwood and Dudley Davis, who preceded her just four weeks. One son, Frankie, died in infancy. She leaves to mourn their loss, two brothers, Judge J.H. Jeffrey of Hood River, Ore, and A.L. Jeffrey of Canyon (Canon) City, Colo. (Wm. Jeffrey and John deceaced. Also 9 grand children, 11 great-grand-children and many distant relatives and a host of friends.
    In 1888 she confessed her faith in Christ and united with the First Christian church of Mooreland to which she remained a faithful member until the time of her departure. The life and memory of Lydia Ann, as she was more familiarly called, tells of her intense love for the church and her faith in God and man.
    "We know not where His islands lift their fronded palms in the air- We only know she cannot drift beyond His love and care."
