Mrs. James W. Barclay, who was born, Lydia Ann Ewing, of the well known Ewing family in this county. She was born near Ewington, May 1, 1841 and she married James Barclay, son of Elijah D.Barclay on Aug. 17, 1859 and for many years lived in Decatur Co. They had 8 children, 4 lived to maturity, besides her husband, she leaves Mrs. Luella Wagner, of Bloomington, Mrs. Alice Gibboney, a teacher at Carlisle Schools, Mrs. John E. M. Purcell of Paxton, and Joseph Knox Barclay, student at State University. She was 67 yrs old, died on Sept 19, 1907 at Sanitarium in Louisville, KY, remains brought back here and buried in South Park Cemetery.
