(family album - newspaper clipping) MRS. JOHN RICHARDS Mrs. Mae Chapman Richards died at the farm home on Oak Hill, Friday afternoon, Oct 27, at 3.30 o'clock. On Sept 11, she suffered a severe paralytic shock and had been in a critical condition since. Mrs. Richards was born Sept. 11, 1871, the only daughter of Andrew and Jerusha Abbott Chapman. On March 16, 1891, she was married to John Richards and spent her entire life in the home where she died. Surviving with the husband are two sons,Merrill J. and Melvin H. Richards and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home on Monday, Rev. John Phillips of Oatka Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Glenwood cemetery. Mrs. Richards leaves a wide circle of friends to mourn her loss, and the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community goes out to the immediate family in their bereavement. Among friends and relatives from out of town attending the funeral were: Leo Richards, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Nelsley, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Buyer and Mrs. Mary Soloman of Buffalo; Mrs. Dick Richardson and Mrs. Herbert Wilson of Niagara Falls; Lloyd Taylor, Horton Lee, Mrs. Arthur Miller, and Mrs. Axel Johnson of Bradford, Pa; Misses Marion and Minnie Weed of Rochester; Mrs. Lucia Crouse of Lima; Mrs. Fred Stevens and son Clarence, Mrs. Chester Rathbun, Mrs. Ralph Crabtree, Dansville; Mr. and Mrs. Miles Calkins, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Calkins of Attica. |
