In 1835 Lucetta and three siblings, were orphans and Lucetta and sister Elgiva Maria chose Stephen L. Howison as their guardian. The court appointed Stephen L. Howison to be guardian of sister Nancy Maria and brother George. I'm told that children under 14 had guardians appointed for them, but children over 14 could choose for themselves who would be their guardian. So this helps determine the age ranges of these children.
