- ↑ Mrs. Louisa Randall came to LaGrange at the age of 13 years, with her parents, from New York state. Her father was the first white settler in town. This has been her home ever since. She married and reared a large family enduring a great deal of hardship. She is now 88 and quite well and hearty for her age. She also has quite a war record. Her grand-father was in the war of the revolution. Her father in the war of 1812, her husband in the Mexican war and three sons in the war of the rebellion. She has moved her goods to Cleveland and will spend the rest of her useful life with her daughter, Mrs. Wilson.
- ↑ The remains of Mrs. Louisa Randall, were brought here from Cleveland Thursday and the funeral was held at the M.R. Church. Mrs. Randall was 85 years of age and had lived in LaGrange most of these years. Her father was the first settler in LaGrange township. Mrs. Randall had a wonderful war record. Her grandfather fought in the Revolution. Her husband in the Mexican war and five sons in the Civil War. She was greatly beloved by every one and her pleasant greeting will be sadly missed by all. Last fall her children thought it would be too much for her to live alone through the winter and persuaded her to go to Cleveland to live with her daughter Mrs. Wilson, where she died last Tuesday. She leaves many friends to mourn her.
