Born at Minnora, she was a member of the Knotts Memorial Methodist church and was a member and past worth matron of the Grantsville Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the White Shrine of Parkersburg. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Eileen Whitman of Big Chimney, Mrs. Naida Ellison of Norwood, Pa., Mrs. Johanne Carpenter of Grantsville, and Mrs. Jeannette Bearden of Colonial Heights, Va.; four sons, William and Dr. George L. Hamilton, both of South Charleston, John M. Hamilton of Moorefield, and Edward C. Hamilton of Levinworth, Kansas; three brothers, Harley Knotts of Fort Myers, Fla., C. A. Knotts of Canton and P. E. Knotts of Minnora; a sister, Ella Eisman [Eismon] of Spencer; a brother, R. F. Eisman [Eismon] of Cleveland; 35 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hamilton, and one son, Howard C. Hamilton. Funeral services were held Monday, April 13, at the Knotts Memorial Methodist church with the Rev. Manley O. Collins officiating, and burial was in Bethlehem cemetery. References
