Loa, Wayne County, Lorenzo J. Taylor, 77, prominent Wayne Countystockman and farmer, died at his residence here Tuesday morning (21 Oct 1958) of a heart condition.
Born April 30, 1881, New Harmony, Washington County, to Riley and Margaret Jane Ellison Taylor. Moved with parents to Loa in 1882. Married Jennie Grundy June 8 1904, Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She died in January, 1955. Served a Church mission to Great Britain, 1901-1903. Bishop of Loa Ward, 1924-1928. Former Wayne County sheriff.
Survivors: four sons, two daughters, William Hicks, Fillmore; Mrs. Dortha Faulkner, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Letha Durfey, American Fork; Gordon G. Pleasant Grove; Keith Taylor, Teasdale; Glade, Loa, a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Saturday 1 p.m., Loa Ward chapel, directed by Spencer Rees, ward bishop. Friends call Friday afternoon, evening and Saturday prior to services at the family residence. Burial Loa City Cemetery by Peterson Mortuary of Richfield.
