WHITNEY, Lois Jackson By NRVToday Thursday, 14 July 2005 Lois Jackson Whitney, 93, of Front Royal, Va., formerly of Fairfax, Va., died Sunday, July 10, 2005, in Loving Arms of Front Royal. Mrs. Whitney was born Dec. 8, 1911, in Abingdon, Va., daughter of the late Minter and Martha Morgan Jackson. She was a retired teacher with a master's degree in history. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the Salvation Army Auxiliary, and a Northern Virginia Literacy Council volunteer. She was a member of the Fairfax Presbyterian Church and was married to the late Grady E. Whitney. Surviving are her daughter Martha L. Whitney of Front Royal, and a brother, M.M. Jackson of Florence, AL. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 14 at 2 p.m. at the Fairfax Presbyterian Church in Fairfax, conducted by Rev. Henry Brinton. A graveside service will be held at the Sunrise Burial Park in Pulaski County on Friday at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to ProLiteracy Worldwide, Attn: The Lois J.
