BIOGRAPHY: Lloyd Earl McNamer was more commonly known as Bill McNamer. How this came about was when Dad was a young boy, his hero was the blacksmith in Big Timber, Montana. The balcksmith's name was Bill Cole, and for a long time after that whenever his parents called him Lloyd, Dad would say, "My name isn't Lloyd, it is Bill Cole!" Over the years it got shortened to simply just "Bill".Dad was also a cowboy...the REAl kind...not the Hollywood type, most of his adult life, with some mining, farming at various times, and custodial work the last 13 years of his life thrown in. My favorite memory of him is sitting astride a big bay gelding named Prince, dressed in his cowboy garb of a western shirt, Levi's, cowboy boots and a Stetson hat. Yep...Dad was a real cowboy all right! He could out rope a lot of the rodeo champions in his heyday!
