  5. Gienow, Ron - Feb 3, 2007, Recipient: Rick Moffat.

John Gienow (married to Anna Mary Kathleen Rumple) is indeed the same John who was Daniel Gienow's son born in 1894. Daniel is my Dad's grandfather (my great-grandfather). John, my dad's uncle, died of the influenza in 1919. His brother (also a Daniel) died at Vimy Ridge inWWI.

Bernard, who never really got to know his father John, as he was an infant when John died, is the Calgary connection. In fact, he was the founder of Gienow Windows and Doors, a fairly successful outfit based in Calgary that ships windows and doors worldwide. It is no longer ownedby the Gienow family however. His wife Lillian just died last week. His daughter, Karen, sadly died last year just before the Gienow familyreunion (held in Regina) that she had hoped to attend.
