    On 24 Nov 1885, Chesterfield, South Carolina, Stephen Jackson, age 78, born in and resident of Chesterfield County, said 1st wife of Wm E. Horne was Sarah, daughter of "Louis Medder" [sic] Sr. who resided in Chesterfield County. Sarah m. Wm E. Horne about 1828 and d. in Anson County, North Carolina about 1841.
    Lewis Meador d. about 1844-45, after death of daughter, and was living when Wm E. Horne m. Sarah Dobs as his 2nd wife
    When Lewis Meador died he left Real Estate in North and South Carolina worth $8000-$10000, and Personal Estate of about $10000 exclusive of about $5000 in advances. Personal estate was all in South Carolina and included 18-20 slaves.
