Migrated to Mississippi, Abt. 1810. Levi, Hilliard and Redden appearto have traveled together from the Carolinas to Mississippi. They served together in the War of 1812 (serving in units from Marion Co., MS)and settled in Marion Co. MS. near each other in the early days before statehood. Levi and Hilliard outlived Redden by 20 or so years. Redden died intestate" leaving neither Wife or Descendants". His half-brother William sued Redden's full brother Obadiah for a share of his estate and lost the case. Apparently Redden did not marry. Althoughhe "signed for Nancy Fatherree in 1815 when she was married, this could have been as a close family member rather than as her father.

Tombstone inscription from Aubrey Dry, Sr. to me by e-mail 24 Jun 1999. He is married to a descendant of Levi's daughter and photographed the stone before it was (probably ) destroyed.

Material in parentheses is best guess of Mr. Dry.

Mr. Dry says that on a trip they stopped by Bear Creek Cem. They found the stone "in a pile of rubble," reassembled it and took pictures. Levi's inscription was on one side and Samantha's on the other.

Mr. Dry says he chose the number 62 for Levi's age based on the belief that Levi was the unborn child referred to in Hilliard Fatheree's will of Nov. 1780 and that he was brother to Ebenezer, Reading, and Hilliard (Jr.)also mentioned in the will. That would make him born in Feb1781.
