Facts and Events
Leonard is found in the Meigs Co 1850 census living with John and Matilda Lee. His mother was from Meigs County and this may have been some of her relatives but so far I do not know that. See his father, Daniel's Notes for more info on this family. According to "Home Folks' (see Historical Stories) Len served in the Union Army during the Civil Way. Census found by Nancy Kraemer: 1870 Census Grant Dist., Jackson Co., West Virginia Jackson, Leonard 25 M W farm labor VA Jackson, Sarah 21 F W keeping house VA Jackson, James A. 3 M W WV Jackson, William L. 1 M W WV His middle initial was found on the birth record for his son, James. 1880 Census 028, Fort Osage, Jackson Co., Missouri Jackson, Semuel W M 36 married farming (Samuel, Semuel, Lemuel, Leonard??) W M 1 S The birth states are not recorded here because it appears that the enumerator has confused the lines. It looks like the last two children were born in Missouri; the rest in 'Virginia' but should have been in West Virginia. 1900 Census District 10, Fort Osage, Jackson Co., Missouri Jackson, Leonard Head W M Dec 1844 55 M34yrs WV WV WV Jackson, Sarah J. wife W F April 1848 52 M34yrs PA 11ch/6 lvg PA PA PA Jackson, Bruce R. son W M Feb 1879 21 S MO WV PA Jackson, Thomas G. son W M April 1881 19 S MO WV PA Jackson, Josie I. dau W F April 1884 16 S MO WV PA Jackson, Allen G.
