  7. From his obit, "Leander Clayton Turner, 80, died in an Augusta Hospital Saturday. Born in Blue RIdge, March 21, 1881, he was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Miles Turner and had been a resident of Floyd County for 40 years, also employed by the Tennessee Copper Co. Surviving are the widow, the former Miss Nora Self, to whom he had been married for 56 years; one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Murphy, Rome, one son, Arthur Turner, Akron, Ohio [brother] Homer Turner of Morganton; six sisters, Mrs. Mexico Parris, of Copperhill, TN; Mrs. Jonah Pittman, Mrs. Willie Galloway and Mrs. Hattie Auberry all of Morganton; Mrs. Josie Richards of Akron, OHio and Mrs. Carrie Lance of Virginia. Interment was in Cave Spring Cemetery, Rome, GA."
