There are several articles about Laurence Womack which can be found on the internet (see below), some of them with contradictory information. Putting them together, it would seem the following is true:

1612-1614 - Baptised at St Andrew's Church in South Lopham. Two different dates have been given and various biographies quote his birthdate as 1612 or 1614.

1629, 15 December - matric (Cantab)

1632-3 - B.A. from BENET (C.C.) Coll, Cambridge

1636 - M.A.

1642 - Laurence succeeded his father at Lopham, but was soon deprived of it. Before that he had been living at Quidenham as chaplain to the Holland family.

1661 - D.D. per literas Regis

Rector of Horringer, Suffolk, canon of Hereford 1660, and of Ely 1660, rector of Boxford, Suffolk, 1663, Archdeacon of Suffolk, 1660, bishop of St Davids 1683, until his death 12 March 1685 at Westminster.

He is buried with his daughter Anne (died 3 Oct, 1684) in the St. Margaret Churchyard, Westminster, London, England. An ornate plaque states, ""Near this place is buried that which was mortal of the Reverend Father in Christ, Laurence Womack, Bishop of St Davids; who exchanged his labours, outstandlngly performed and bestowed upon the Church of England over many years, for a crown of immortality on 12th March 1685 in his 73rd year. Also of his daughter Anne, a maid of 19 years who, on the 3rd Oct. preceding, was summoned hence to the company of virgin souls (a state) more excellent than any marriage could be".

Laurence wrote a large number of books, many of which are still available in print today.

He had at least two daughters, one of whom died in infancy and the other apparently died shortly before he did. His nephew, also Laurence, was the main beneficiary of his will.
