    Laura Weeks Mitchell.

[No image, but presumably the following information reflects the gravestone?
    Laura (Weeks) Mitchell, wife of William T., d. Jan. 15, 1846, a. 37 yr. 7 mo. 9 dy.
    Mary A Mitchell, dau. of William & Mary, d. Dec. 4, 1856, 6 yr. 2 mo. 12 dy.
Birth of Laura calculates to about 6 Jun 1808. The child Mary clearly belongs to a subsequent wife.]

  3. Laura's fathers' probate opened in 1855 lists among heirs, "Laura How's heirs". The estate was insolvent so no further mention. Her mother's probate in 1865 lists heirs of "Laura Mitchell". Source:Cutter, William Richard. Historic Homes and Places and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Relating to the Families of Middlesex County, Massachusetts, Vol. 4, p. 1384, says Laura m. (1) Caleb Mitchel of New York, m. (2) Frank Damon of New York, apparently based on information given by a relative. It misses the first marriage, supported by her father's probate referring to Laura How, and add a third marriage which seems unlikely since the mother's probate doesn't name her as Damon, the administrator there, unlike the father's administrator, actually having to issue payments (unless he was unaware of a third marriage because all the heirs of Laura had the name Mitchell). Find A Grave has a memorial for Laura Weeks Mitchell, b. 1808 based on age at death, d. 1846 in Troy, New York, which seems a match worth considering, but the husband's name is William T. Mitchell, not Caleb Mitchell. However, William T. Mitchell had a son name Caleb Mitchell, and the opportunity for confusion is clear. William T. Mitchell was alive in 1850 (line 27), so identification of him as husband would pretty much rule out the Damon marriage. However, all-in-all, too much inconsistency to draw conclusions until some records can be located, which has eluded all efforts so far.
[Note: Since the original posting of this note, the marriage record to William Mitchell has been located, and it seems probable the Find A Grave page is correct.]
