LaMar H Lantz, 81, 1300 Chestnut St, died early Thursday morning at hom

He was born in Jackson Twp to the now deceased Wilfred S and Hazel (Berlek amp) Lantz. He married Bertha R Rodriguez on June 25, 1947, in NY, and s he preceded him on Sept. 21, 1995.

Mr. Lantz served with the Merchant Marines during World War II from 1940 u ntil 1946. He was a tool and die maker at the Whirlpool Corp. for 52 year s, retiring in 2001.

An avid card player, he enjoyed traveling, photography and gardening. He w as a member of First United Church of Christ.

Surviving are son Richard Lantz of Fremont; daughters Mara (Richard) Thomp son of Bettsville, Marie (Kevin) McCourt of Vickery and Christine (Fred) C raig of Fremont; and five grandchildren. Along with his parents and wif e, he is preceded by daughter Carol Lantz and brother Wilfred Lantz Jr

Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. today, Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, First United Church of Christ with Rev. Jam es Wise officiating. His body will lie in state from 10 A.M until the ti me of services.

Burial: Washington Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials: To the church or donor's choice.
