    Bruce was struck by a civilian vehicle and killed.

    DESPATCH RIDER KILLED
    GEELONG, Friday - Kenneth Bruce McLeod, 22 years, despatch rider, at- tached to the Second Cavalry Division, of Dunkeld, was fatally injured near Belmont this evening He was riding a motor-cycle to Torquay, and came into collision with a motor-truck He died in the military hospital at Torquay.
