Kate Bruins was the daughter of Meindert Bruins and Epke "Effie" Edens.
Kate Goldhorn - 1933 Mrs. Kate Goldhorn, nee Bruin was born Sept. 9, 1850, in Beerta, Netherlands. She was reared by her parents and received her religious training in a Dutch Reformed Church. She was united in marriage to Addo Goldhorn, June 1, 1875. They came to the United States 21 years ago in 1911, and located in Plymouth County, Iowa, where she has since resided. Seven years ago Mr. and Mrs. celebrated their golden anniversary. Mr. Goldhorn preceded Mrs. Goldhorn in death by three years, he having died June 31, 1929, Mrs. Goldhorn died Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the age of 82 years, one month and 16 days. The deceased is survived by Mr. and Mrs. Mulder and eight children, Mr. and Mrs. George Roemeling and 10 children of Adrian, MN., Jacob and Ralph Goldhorn of Lincoln Township, two sisters, Mrs. Ella Dannan of Melbourne, Iowa, Mrs. Dick Sweep of Maryelsville, Maryland and 21 grandchildren. Funeral service were held from the home in Lincoln Township at 2:30 pm., last Friday, Rev. John Perl of St. John's Evangelical church of LeMars officiating. Interment was made in Lincoln township cemetery.
