"Josiah Wetmore, the eighth and youngest son and child of Izrahiah and Rachel (Stow) Wetmore, was born in Middletown, March 1 1708/09. He married and had two daughters, Martha and Esther. He resided in Middletown, in a small house north side of Spring street, a little west of the present Roman Catholic church. He was a merchant. 'He died Sept. 27, 1751, ae 42, of a broken heart on acco of misfortunes in trade, owing to impositions of servants & agents, & his too great confidence in ye honesty of others--left two daughters--he was bouried in ye east yard by ye side of his father'"

James Carnahan Wetmore does not give us the name of Josiah's wife, nor birth dates for his two daughters.

A Hartford District Probate File 5975, dated 1751, contains a bond, inventory, Order of the Court, Returns to the Court and an Account of Administration.
