Josiah was elected hog reave 1776, surveyor of highways 186, 1791, on the Fish or Alewife Committee 1788, 1789 but refused it, and 1792. In 1803 was living on Washington Street at N. corner of Holbrook Avenue. Appears to be buried at Elm Street Cemetery. Died at age 72, but vital records say died 5 Oct 1823 at 73 years, 2 months, 27 days. (Sprague #1801)
