    "JOSEPH, Plymouth, s[on]. of Richard, but not eldest in my judgm[ent]. tho[ugh]. so call[ed]. in the Warren Genal. that may hav[e] unconsciously been influenc[ed]. by the baptismal designat[ion]. was not bro[ugh]t. by his mo[ther]. from Eng[land]. m[arried]. a[bout]. 1651, Priscilla, sis[ter]. of the famous rul[ing]. elder Thomas Faunce, whose f[ather]. had been fellow-passeng[er]. with his mo[ther]. was held in gr[eat]. esteem 1677, rep[resentative]. by ann. elect[ion]. 1681-6, and d[ied]. 1689. His wid[ow]. d[ied]. 1707. Of his ch[ildren]. it will be very hard to find exact dates of b[irth]. but the order is confident. trusted; Mercy, b[orn]. 23 Sept. 1653; Abigail, 15 Mar. 1655, d[ied]. young; Joseph, 8 Jan. 1657; Patience, 15 Mar. 1660; Elizabeth 15 Aug. 1662; and Benjamin, 8 Jan. 1670. Mercy m[arried]. Winsor says, 1674, or 5 Feb. 1675, as the Bradford Geneal. has it, John Bradford, liv[ed]. with him near 62 y[ea]rs. and d[ied]. Mar. 1747. Patience m[arried]. 1686, Samuel Lewis, as the name seems prob[able]. to be read, and Elizabeth m[arried]. 19 Jan. 1688, Josiah Phinney. It is observ[ed]. that his male descend[ants]. since the fourth generat[ion]. are confin[ed]. to those of his gr[eat].-gr[and].ch[ild]. Benjamin.

    Joseph, Plymouth, eldest s[on]. of the preced[ing]. m[arried]. 1692, Mehitable Wilder, had Joseph, b[orn]. 1694; and Priscilla, 1696; and he d[ied]. the same y[ea]r."
