MILITARY:

Joseph E. Seaver, a resident of Duplain MI, enlisted as a Private in the Union Army on 4 August 1862 at age 18, and enlisted in Company B, 4th Cavalry Regiment of Michigan on 28 August 1862. He was taken as a Prisoner of War on 15 June 1863 (no battle given) and was paroled on 15 October 1863 (estimated date).
