Went to Ireland in 1875 to take his wife, Rose back. Joseph returned in late 1875 and worked for Pete Boile apparently in Wisconsin later moved to Anaconda, Montana to work in copper mines and died there.

In letter from Loretta Durfee received January 1999 she says that "Mrs. O'Haver's father, Joseph Pratt came with them from Gregory and filed homestead.Later relinquished. " this indicates that Joseph Pratt was in Darlington, Wis. from at least 1850 when his son John was born until 1873 when Ester was born. He then went to Ireland in 1875 for about 1 year. It further indicates that Joseph Pratt may have moved to Page, Ne in 1886. He then moved to Gregory, S.D. in 1906 and remained there until 1908 when he moved to Crook county, Wy. (these dates can be further verfied through censes records)
