Joseph R. Parker, the youngest sibling of Robert LeRoy Parker a.k.a. "Butch Cassidy", and son of Maximilian Parker and Annie Campbell Gillies, served during World War I as a Private in Troop I of the 4th Cavalry of the U.S. Army. He enlisted on May 12, 1917 and was discharged on June 2, 1919.
