- As noted by Hoyt, Source:Morse, Abner. Memorial of the Morses makes this one Joseph into two people,
*91-3, p. 90. son of Anthony, b. 29 Jul 1665, married Lydia Plummer and he dies in 1690 instead of Lydia as really happened *131-2, p. 130. son of Joseph, grandson of William, b. about 1673, m. Elizabeth Poor. The will of 1741 names children assigned to both, showing they are the same.
- Source:Morse, J. Howard. Morse Genealogy : Comprising the Descendants of Samuel, Anthony, William and Joseph Morse and John Moss : Being a Revision of the attempts to be a revision of the Memorial of the Morses, but makes its own errors. While it combines all the marriages into one person, it gives a birthdate of 28 Oct 1673, and places his death between 19 May 1741 and 27 Sep 1741. It is not known where the birthdate comes from as no such birth is found in Newbury and the recorded birth is 29 Jul 1665. The death range obviously comes from the will dates, but the will was proved in 1744, not 1741.
