This page merely reflects what is found in the Northampton records, but undoubtedly there is some kind of error. The confusion over the date is 1674 or 1675 is not the only issue. There already was a son named Joseph born in 1665, who appears to have survived as he was married and had a son in 1694 (i.e., born by 1673), and was called eldest son when the estate was divided. Further, there is the set of twins born and died 14 Nov 1676 (Sep). The parenthetical comment was added by the records editor. November being the ninth month in old style dates, September being ninth in new style dates, the possibility of a misinterpretation makes the date similar to the date an this page, or else the editor may have been confused by the similarity of the dates. But no explanation is known.
