    The state of Minnesota census of 1895 tells us that Joseph's family moved to Minnesota in 1889 from Iowa.  Joseph was three years old.
    In 1895, Joseph (age nine) was living in Chatham with his family.  By 1900, his family was living in Maple Lake Township.  He was living on a farm next to his family, helping Grace Elsenpiter with her farm.  He was fourteen years old.
    By February, 1920, he was married and living with his wife Clara and son Bernard (age two) in Rockford Township, Wright County, Minnesota.
    Joseph and Ida lived at 600 N.W. 2nd Ave. in Buffalo at the time of his death.  His parents are Frank Kris and Lena Valla.  He was a carpenter by trade and built the house they lived in. He died of a Cerebral Hemmorrage suddenly due to hypertension he had five years. His social security number is 470-38-6270. He is buried in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Buffalo next to his first wife Clara and his second wife Ida.
