'Joseph Hurlbut, Jr. ([son of] Joseph, ...) was born (prob. about 1677). It is presumed that he removed to Woodbury, Ct. [from Wethersfield, see p. 21) with his parents, as early as 1682. He was bap. in that town in the month of August, 1697, and was called an adult. ... He m. 17 May 1698, Mary Castle (bap. Sept. 1686), daugh. of Henry Castle, from Stratford, and early settler of Woodbury. ... He d. in Woodbury, 21 June, 1729.'
