EAVES, Joseph, [died] Oct. --, 1831. [A deserter from Burgoyne's army.] [Note: this comment clearly apples to Joseph's father, this Joseph not being old enough to have fought in the Revolution.]
11 Apr 1810: "Whereas Joseph Eaves of Royalston by idleness and excessive driking is liable to become charable to said town - We therefore pray your honour would appoint some person as guardian over the said Joseph. Signed Select men of Royalston. P.S. We would recomend to your Honour Joseph Emerson..." 23 Mar 1813: A second request by selectmen of Royalston. 20 May 1813: Bond of Rufus Bullock as guardian "of Joseph Eaves of Royalston ...yeoman of whom the selectman of said Town of Raoyalston have complained that by excessive Drinking and Idleness so spends and wastes his estate as to expose himself to want and suffering circumstances &c."
