He married at New Orleans, LA on 9 Oct 1785 to Élizabeth-Augustine (dite Isabelle) LANDRY, daughter of Jean-Baptiste & Isabelle DUGAS. His father Joseph signed the consent to wed at New Orleans on 18 Oct 1784.

He is the oldest child listed in the 6th family (of 11 persons) aboard the ship "Le Saint Rémi," which embarked for Louisiana on 27 Jun 1785 and debarked 10 Sep 1785.
