Shortly after their marriage, Joseph and Rebecca Vest Chitty moved from NC to KY, possibly to Clay Co.; later they lived near Richmond, Madison Co., KY. In 1824 he moved from KY to Lawrence Co., IN. His widow later went to Carroll Co., IL where she continued to live with one of her sons until her death at Shannon, IL in July or Aug of 1868. His occupation was Furrier and Hatter.
